AI for Indianapolis Home Service Contractors
You paid to make the phone ring. You paid to get the website visit. You sent someone to the house. You built the estimate. Before you spend more money generating leads, let's find out what happens to the ones you already have.
Raise the Trades helps HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing and other home service companies find the gaps between first search and paid invoice — then use better process, automation and AI to close them.

If we can't identify the problem, I'm not going to sell you AI as the solution. These are the questions I'd ask first.
Where does your revenue leak?
Home service growth isn't one transaction. It's a series of handoffs. Every handoff is a place where a good opportunity can quietly disappear.
I look for the leaks between the steps.
Can homeowners actually find you?
Google Business Profile. Local Services Ads. Organic search. Reviews. AI recommendations. Website conversion. AI won't fix weak demand generation.
What happens when nobody answers?
Missed-call text-back, call routing, live answering and AI receptionists can all help. The goal isn't an AI receptionist. It's making sure a valuable opportunity doesn't disappear because your CSR was already on another call.
Pull your open-estimate report.
How much money is sitting there? Now ask how many of those homeowners have heard from someone more than once. Automation can make sure follow-up happens. Your salesperson should still own the sale.
What happens after the invoice is paid?
Reviews. Referrals. Maintenance reminders. Seasonal outreach. Membership renewals. Your cheapest future customer may already be sitting in your database.
Where AI actually earns its keep.
I don't care whether something is technically “AI.” I care whether it saves time, protects revenue or helps your people do better work.
Missed calls
Respond immediately when the office can't.
Call summaries
Stop making someone replay a long recording just to figure out what happened.
Lead qualification
Pull the useful information out of an inquiry before someone on your team touches it.
Estimate follow-up
Make sure open opportunities don't quietly age out.
Technician notes
Turn rough notes and voice memos into usable documentation.
Customer reactivation
Find customers who should have heard from you months ago.
If a simple automation solves the problem, use the automation. If your existing software already does it, turn it on. If AI can do it materially better, use AI. If a human should handle it, keep the human.
Let's look at what you're already paying for.
Most contractors don't need another dashboard. They need the systems they already have to work together.
What's actually worth paying attention to? What's quietly costing you money?
In 2026, I hosted an in-person AI for Contractors workshop in Zionsville focused on exactly those questions.
Contractors don't need another presentation about everything AI might someday do. They need to know where technology can make a measurable difference in the business they run today.
That's still how I approach the work: start with the business, find the problem, then decide whether the answer is AI, automation, better process or a person.
I'm Liz Northern. This is home.
I spent nearly a decade at Angie's List, HomeAdvisor and Angi here in Indianapolis, and my family built and sold an Indiana HVAC company.
I've spent more than 15 years thinking about how home service businesses get found, win customers and grow.
Today, I run Raise the Trades from Central Indiana, helping independent contractors figure out where they're losing revenue — and where marketing, automation or AI can actually help.
AI is changing more than the back office.
It's changing how homeowners find contractors, how companies operate and even the demand for the skilled trades building the physical infrastructure behind it.
Built here. Working with contractors here.
Raise the Trades is based in Central Indiana and works with independent home service companies throughout the Indianapolis metro.
Give me 90 minutes and your numbers.
We'll walk through your business from Found → Called → Booked → Quoted → Closed → Served → Paid → Reviewed → Referred → Rebooked.
We're looking for the places where opportunities are already entering the business but aren't becoming revenue — and the repetitive work consuming time your team could spend somewhere better.

What kinds of home service companies do you work with?
Raise the Trades works primarily with independent HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, landscaping, tree service and other home service businesses.
Do you sell AI software?
No. Raise the Trades isn't tied to a particular AI platform, CRM or field-service system. The goal is to identify the business problem first and then determine the simplest useful solution.
Can you help us choose an AI receptionist?
Yes. But first I'd want to understand your call volume, missed-call rate, after-hours demand, current phone process, booking workflow and existing software. An AI receptionist may be the right answer. It may not be.
Can you work with Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan or the software we already use?
The first place I want to look is the technology you're already paying for. Available integrations and automation options vary by platform and plan, but the goal is to understand the workflow first and add technology only when it's actually necessary.
Is Raise the Trades only for Indianapolis contractors?
No. Raise the Trades is based in Central Indiana and works with independent home service companies beyond Indianapolis as well.
Before you spend more money generating demand, make sure you're capturing the demand you already have.
Find the missed calls, stale estimates, forgotten customers and manual work quietly costing your business time and money.
